Christian Peau was founded in Kobe, Japan in 2002 by Junji Koike, whose work balances raw expression with refined craftsmanship. Known for exceptional leather bags and garments, the brand uses premium, CITES-certified leathers distinguished by innovative treatments and butter-soft finishes. Drawing on 18th-century European craft traditions, each piece reflects a deep respect for artisanal process and heritage. The collections also incorporate repurposed antique jacquards and mid-century Japanese kinsha silks, adding depth and historical nuance to the designs.
